HangWord
HangWord is a combination word find and hangman game. First click adjoining tiles in the grid to make a word and
then press the Submit Word button or press the enter key on your keyboard. If you have made a valid word,
the first letter of the word you make will be your guess for the phrase and any instances of it will be revealed
in the phrase box. It will also appear in the Used Letter area so you know which letters you have already tried.
Each letter tile is assigned a point value. When you submit a valid word the point totals of the letters making up the word
will be added to your total. Bonus points are added for longer words and certain B&B words. At random, special tiles
will appear which will double or triple the point value of the word you constructed. When you make 1000 points in a round
you get an extra turn to be used in that round. Your progress is measured by the meter on the right of the screen. If you find all of the letters in the phrase then you get a 10,000 point bonus.
The other special tile that can appear randomly is the Free vowel tile. If you use this tile in a valid word, then that vowel will
be used as a guess for the phrase in addition to the first letter of the word you submitted.
Special Functions
Guess Phrase - Click this button to attempt to guess the phrase. You must type in the entire phrase, letters, spaces, and special symbols like the apostraphe or comma.
If you guess sucessfully you will advance to the next round. If you do not guess sucessfully you will lose 1 turn. The category above the phrase gives you a hint about what the phrase is, e.g. zine title, episode title, actors name.
Shuffle - If you get stuck and can't make any more words with the letters in the grid, you can click the shuffle button to get a new set of letters.
Doing this takes 1 turn.
Submit Word - Click this to submit the word you have made or else press the Enter key on your keyboard.
Menu - Quits the game
