About the Author
Knowing full well that many will feel this page an act of vanity, I decided to do it anyway. My true intention is one of authentication. Some people may read my story and think it complete fantasy as far as the portrayal of the biker lifestyle. The bikers in my story are composites of real people -- our friends. My portrayal comes MUCH closer to reality than "The Wild Ones" or any of the other movies and stories that many people have seen and accepted as the truth. I tried very hard to give you a feel for the fact that bikers, like citizens, are people -- just people.
The picture below is an old family portrait. On the left is my son, Rob, on his '87 Softail Custom. Next is my daughter, Michele, in the sidecar and my husband, Frank, at the controls of our '86 Tourglide Classic. On the right is me on my '87 Hugger Sportster.
The picture below is a more recent one of my husband and I on the bike we now own -- the '88 Springer Softail that Vincent borrowed from Reaper for his first ride.
