A round robin story is a type of collaborative storytelling in which a number of authors take turns writing chapters of an ongoing story.
- We're planning two round robin stories, one Classic and one Third Season.
- We need a minimum of 5 volunteers for each story.
- The length of the chapters will be based on the number of volunteers and the time available when we start - usually only a few pages.
- We can be flexible about whose turn is when, but once it's your turn, we need you to get back to us ASAP. In past years, we've given people about a week to write their chapters.
- Good grammar, spelling, and punctuation are expected. (We will edit, so don't worry too much.)
- Characters must be in character, unless they have a darn good reason not to be.
- The round robin is not the place to work out your 3S issues (or any other kind). ;-)
- If you've never written anything before in your life, the round robin might not be the best place to start.
- Also there are rules which should go without saying, so we mostly won't. (But an example would be: Don't kill off any existing characters.)
We hope we didn't scare you off with all those rules! If you'd like to write a chapter of the round robin, contact us at wintercandlemakers2@yahoo.com by October 25, 2009. |
